The role
You join Patterno with the core system live and enterprise pilots running. You'll take ownership of major product areas and evolve the platform from a working system into a reliable, scalable, enterprise-ready product.
This is a hands-on founding engineering role. You ship production code, make the right architectural calls as complexity grows, and own large parts of a platform that already turns raw tender data into opportunities for enterprise customers.
What you'll do
- Own the TypeScript backend end to end, from tender ingestion and matching logic to onboarding, notifications, and integrations
- Design and evolve the relational data model across tenders, organizations, profiles, and matches with Drizzle ORM and PostgreSQL, including pgvector-powered semantic search
- Build and harden ingestion pipelines across structured sources, owning deduplication, normalization, freshness, and monitoring
- Ship user-facing features you can point to, from onboarding to tender feeds to matching controls, with React 19, TanStack Start, and Tailwind CSS
- Integrate AI for document understanding and bid workflows using Vertex AI, working with embeddings and structured outputs, always balancing quality, cost, and latency
- Build enterprise-grade infrastructure including RBAC, audit logging, secure document handling, and GDPR-compliant data processing on GCP
- Make architectural decisions that stick as the platform scales from pilots to production contracts
What you bring
- Strong production experience in TypeScript across frontend and backend
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, relational modeling, and migrations
- Working proficiency with React and modern meta-frameworks (TanStack Start, Next.js, or similar)
- Experience deploying and running services on GCP
- Practical experience integrating LLM APIs in real products
- Strong debugging skills and a bias toward reliability
